Steps to Apply for Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2021

Step I Visit the official website of Indian Coast Guard @www.joinindiancoastguard.gov.in

Step II Select the advertisement for Recruitment of Assistant Commandant02/2022 Batch (Group A).

Step III Click on the post {Asst. Commandant General Duty/Commercial Pilot Entry/ Technical (Engineering & Electrical)} to be applied.

Step IV Click on the ‘I Agree’ button and the ‘Online Application’ will be displayed.

Step V Proceed to fill the application and upload the photograph and signature in jpeg format (image quality 200 dpi). The size of the photograph and signature must be between 10 kb to 40 kb and 10 kb to 30 kb respectively.

Indian Coast Guard Selection Process

The candidate’s selection pertaining to a particular batch is valid for that batch only. The candidates have to pass through the following stages to recruit at the post.

Stage I

Shortlisting of Applications

Shortlisting criteria will be based on a higher percentage of marks in the qualifying examination and the qualifying cut off may be increased more than 60% if more applications with higher % are received.

Preliminary Selection

Shortlisted candidates will be called for Preliminary Selection at a given date and time which will consist of Mental Ability Test/ Cognitive Aptitude Test and Picture Perception & Discussion Test. The aptitude tests will be in English only and will be of objective type. During PP&DT the candidates are expected to speak and discuss in English. However, they are free to speak in Hindi if they wish to do so.

Stage -II

Final Selection

The candidates who qualify for Preliminary Selection will be called for Final Selection. The date and venue for the Final Selection Board (FSB) will be uploaded on the Indian Coast Guard website www.joinindiancoastguard.gov.in. The Final Selection will be conducted tentatively from End Feb to Mid Apr 2022. The Final Selection will consist of Psychological Test, Group Task and Interview (Personality test). All documents/ certificates verified during PSB are also required to be produced in originals during FSB.

Medical Test

All candidates recommended by the Final Selection Board will undergo Medical examination at the nearest Military Hospital as per medical standard prescribed in current regulations applicable to Assistant Commandant entry.

(a) Heigh: 157 cms minimum. Reduction in height for candidates from hilly areas and tribal areas will be in accordance with the Central Govt. regulations.

(b) Weight: Proportionate to the Height and Age, + 10 % acceptable.

(c) Chest: Well proportionate, minimum expansion 5 cms.

(d) Eye Sight: 6/6, 6/9 – Uncorrected without Glass and 6/6 6/6 – Corrected with Glass.

(e) Tattoo. Permanent body tattoos are not permitted on any part of the body.

Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant Salary

The promotions to the ranks will be as per the laid down promotion criteria. The salary for Assistant Commandant is as per Level 10 with a Starting Basic Pay of Rs 56,100/-. The other pay and allowances are admissible as per the rules and regulations in addition to the pay scale. The pay scales for the various ranks as per the 7th CPC of posts at which AC can be promoted include

1. Deputy Commandant (Level 11; Rs. 67,700/-)

2. Commandant (JG) (Level 12: 78,800/-),

3. Commandant (Level 13; Rs. 1,23,100/-), 

4. Deputy Inspector General (Level 13A Rs. 1,31,100/-), 

5. Inspector General (Level 14; Rs. 1,44,200/-, 

6. Additional Director General (Level 15; Rs. 1,82,200/-), 

7. Director General (Level 16 Rs. 2,05,400/-).
